Mary Yuk Yee Leung

Mary Yuk Yee Leung, age 57 of Toronto, passed away on April 5, 2021 from her courageous fight with breast cancer.
She was born to parents Pak Fai Tang and Sam Kiu Chan, on August 28, 1963 in Hong Kong.
Mary is survived by her husband of 35 years, Alfred; her three children, Eric, Pearl and Michael; and her brother and sisters, Yuk Tong, Yuk Ha and Yuk Yin.
Mary was a loving wife and nurturing mother. She always put family first by supporting her children with opportunities and encouragement, and by sharing her life wisdom. Her favorite hobby was cooking which she often used to bring family and friends together by sharing recipes and delicious meals.
Mary was also a devout Christian for over 30 years, who tirelessly volunteered at various churches and ensured that everyone felt loved as brothers and sisters in Christ.
Even in her final months, Mary remained true to her character: loving, optimistic, and persistent to the very end. She is remembered for her ideals and she continues to inspire those who knew her to uphold them and to love as she did. She passed in the comfort of feeling loved and appreciated by family and friends.
Following Mary’s wishes, no funeral ceremony was held and her cremated remains were scattered in nature.

Although we only get to know Mary for only a few months through TOL Bible Study class, her personality and her sharing have gave us a lot of encouragement and wisdom. Although it was she who was going through the difficulties of illness, but it was she who gave us courage and energy by due to her strong faith in God! Mary is a great warrior, she definitely lived out Jesus’ life from what we know her. We will deeply missed her!

I was blessed and privileged to have known Mary and the Leung family for more than 20 years. She was a very loving, most kind hearted and extremely generous person and I will miss her terribly. Mary was a warrior, tackling the obstacles in her life with grace and optimism along with being a pillar of strength for those around her. Her light will always shine bright. Mary is a very enthusiastic devout Christian, She had a very optimistic, and cheerful personality. I met her when I was at my lowest, she was like like an angel sent by God to cheer me up and helped as I walked through the valley of the shadow of death. We also grew up spiritually together though our bible study groups. The food that she brings for our bible study groups had our bellies stuffed and satisfied. The time I spent with Mary was one of the greatest moments in my life.
Auntie Mary was such a lovely Christian. She showed such great care for me when I was sick and when we visited your house. I remember all the different activates she took us to, showing us what can can enjoy in life. The meals she cooked for potlucks were delicious and mouthwatering. I learned so much from her and will remember her always.
I am truly sorry for your lost. I pray that you can continue to look forward to each day in a positive manner as she is by God’s side now watching over us.
Auntie Mary was a caring person, she had looked after when my mom was looking after my brother when he was sick.
I recall some of the things she’s done for me and helped me when I was feeling down. I’ve learned a lot from her and I hope that she will feel healthy by God’s side, I sincerely regret your loss and I hope that you can continue each day with
optimism knowing she’s by God’s side

Our hearts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Mary, a truly wonderful Sister-in-Christ who meant so much to so many will be missed by all of us. We were truly blessed and privileged to have known Mary. She was a wonderful woman, full of strength, love, faith, kindness and goodness. We are saddened by the passing of Mary, but we know she is now truly at peace in heaven, and we will all be reunited with her again. Revelation 21:4, Living Bible: “He will wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor pain. All of that has gone forever.” May God blesses, comforts and strengthens you all.

Although we only met Mary for a few times in our cell group, she made us feel that she was a kindness, faith and with love person. During her illness, we can feel that she had faith with our Lord to go through her painfulness and difficulties. We are sorry to hear that she has left us to heaven. But, we are sure that she is enjoying her happiness with our Lord in heaven now. Pray that our Lord comforts and walks through with her families. We missed you, Mary.

My condolence and prayer go to Mary’s family! Sister Nancy told me her deep sorry for Mary’s family and introduce me here with all who love her and her family. I truly believe Mary is resting in our Lord. I am so touched especially by her lovely and kindly smile that I can image her great spirit and hope in the end of her earth life. Even though I did not know Mary on the earth, I believe that I will find out her at in first sight when I get there in front of the Lord, and listen her story and her love to the people here, including her family. May God bless Mary’s family with his salvation leading their reunion in Heaven! Pastor Andy Yang, East Toronto Mandarin Alliance Church
