Sharon Dorothy Renee Cooney

Sharon Dorothy Renee Cooney – June 20, 1956 to September 25, 2021
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Sharon at the age of 65 in Michael Garron Hospital. Sharon was born in Ottawa to Norman Cooney and Doreen Stokes (nee Dever). She was the proud mother to Christopher (Randy) Cooney, sister to Kevin (Connie), Kelly and Michael (deceased). Beloved Nanny of Aaron, Alyssa, Sierra and Tyler who will miss her immensely. She was much loved by her nephews Danny, David and Brendan as well by her many cousins, extended family and friends.
Sharon had a love of family and was happiest when she was with them. She loved cooking/baking and hosting family celebrations and making her Nanny’s fudge. She had several passions in her life, in particular any type of animal and Elvis. Sharon had many pets throughout her life and she loved them with all of her heart. She will be missed by her fur babies Sheba and Trouble.
The family would like to say a special thank you to her friend of 40+ years, John Gronross, for the care and compassion he showed Sharon, in particular for the last several months. A huge thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Michael Garron Hospital, F3 and G5 wings for the care provided to Sharon and the kindness shown to the family.
Cremation has taken place and internment will follow at a future date.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to The Farley Foundation http://www.farleyfoundation.org/ an organization close to Sharon’s heart.

Sharon I cannot express how much I will miss you. You have been there for me since the day I was born, my greatest cheerleader, my steadfast supporter but most importantly my friend and sister. The things I will miss are too numerous to mention, I can honestly say of all these things I will simply just miss you. We shared so much together and am grateful for these memories and will hold them close to my heart forever. I find peace knowing you are no longer suffering and that you will never again know pain. I love you to infinity and beyond Sharon and I will look for you in the stars. Spread your wings and soar Sharon, let your light shine in the heavens. xoxoxo
