Dear John, Jessica, Karen and Joanne and families,
My heart goes out to all of you. I remember Marie as the salt of the earth; her warmth and smile were infectious; her love of family infinite, her fun spirit, her drive and energy boundless. She was a good friend and mentor, always believing in the possibilities.
Please accept my deepest condolences at this very sad time, and hope that your memories of her bounding around the house, hosting parties, laughing, and her wit and wisdom, will sustain you. May her memory be for a blessing and may you be spared further sorrow.
Much love,
Fran Cohen

I never met Marie, but she sounds like a lovely lady and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Her last few years were challenging, but she still had a warm and kind smile, and still found joy in watching the Jays. I’m thinking of the Jaffeys and sending healing thoughts your way.

Dear John, Jessica, Joanne, Karen, and families,
This is such sad news. I will always remember Marie for her warmth and generous hospitality, her loyal friendship and good humour. And if my husband Mark were still alive he would thank her for the welcome he was always given round the bridge table and in your home, which were a lifeline during some of the lowest times of his life. Eternal rest grant unto her, and may perpetual light shine upon her. With love to all.

This is sad news indeed. In the decades since we left Toronto we have seen Marie seldom and not recently. So we didn’t know of her illness and remember her only as lively, warm, resourceful young woman—devoted to her family and friends and up for challenges. She had her feet on the ground. We are sorry for the gap that she leaves among those who loved her. It was kind of you to let us share in your regrets.

Dear John, Jessica, Joanne, Sandro, Karen, Austin and the entire Ronan family,
John and I were heartbroken to have learned that Marie had passed away. I remember spending so many pleasurable hours with over the last four decades – visiting and playing Bridge at the house, attending parties, taking an ESL evening course – always greatly enjoying her company. We had wonderful conversations and commiserated often on the state of early reading education in the country. More than anything, Marie was full of warmth, kindness and inspiration. All of us will miss her greatly and we send the entire family our heartfelt condolences. May her memory be a blessing.

My sincere condolences on the loss of a very special lady.
Tim & Lee Doyle
We are so sorry to hear of Marie’s passing. Tim knew her while they both grew up in Colgan & I got to know her while we were in high school at Banting Memorial in Allston. She was always kind, friendly, extremely smart & willing to share her time & talents. She spent endless hours doing the ancestry of the Ronan family as well as all the connecting families. We talked often in those years to collaborate the families ties. We send our sincere condolences to her entire family.
Dan and Carol DeMatteis
Carol and I fondly remember Marie from our years in Toronto. She and John were our bridge friends – and so much more. She was so kind with a sweet, modest smile, still beaming in the picture above. And extremely competent and trustworthy, with a backbone of steel. Thoughts and prayers for John and the girls.
Mary Ann Rizzuto
