James Richard Cozzi

James passed away on March 15, 2021. He had contracted Covid and despite the very fine care and treatment at Mackenzie Health in Richmond Hill he did not survive.
Paul and I would like to sincerely thank the very professional staff at Mackenzie Health for their care of James. They were dedicated and compassionate.
Here are some thoughts about James that Paul and I would like to share with you:
He had a great sense of humor.
He was stoic about life which hopefully helped him.
He was my older brother Paul’s and my trusted paralegal when we practiced law together as Cozzi and Cozzi. He often told the story about how other lawyers thought he was a lawyer and would ask him for legal advice which he happily gave them.
He followed our father’s love of baseball and was an avid baseball fan who closely followed the Blue Jays.
Paul and I have many fond memories of our childhoods together growing up at 49 Dodge Road in Scarborough.
Memories are all we have now and they are good ones.
James was a Great Guy!

Thanks for introducing me to your brother. He was friendly and easy to get along with. He was a good listener and always offered his advice and opinions on matters being discussed. I will always remember our meetings at Starbucks in Newmarket and the last one at your old residence.
He will me missed.

James was a fun and caring uncle.
I made James stay and watch all 17 innings of a Jays game at Skydome when I was in my early teens.
He was a great sport and even took the heat from my parents when I got home far too late.
He even took me to more games after that.
I watched baseball with him, skied with him and had many laughs
He will be missed

James became a very dear friend over 15 years ago. Spending time around the fire and hours at his apartment in Richmond Hill. He was my neighbor and friend. I will miss you forever my friend. Until we meet again. You always hit it out of the park with your humor. Luv you James My most heartfelt condolences to both Peter and Paul ❤️

I was very upset when I heard that James (Jim) had passed away. I enjoyed reading his daily e-mails and laughing at the jokes he sent. Jim also sent the important current events. As a member of the High Park Ski Club, I was on the membership committee of which Jim was the head. Great times were had by all . Will miss Jim. My sincere condolences to his family.

So sorry for your loss. James was a very good friend of mine. I will miss him dearly. We shared a love for baseball. When we got together there was no shortage of conversation. Whenever I had a tough decision to make James was always there to help guide me in the right direction. He was the big brother I never had. I will always cherish the days at the ball park we had.

Just learned of Jim’s passing today and I am so very sorry to hear about his loss. I was a friend of his in the High Park Ski Club (HPSC), cross country ski section. We had some wonderful weekend trips together with the club over the years. Jim was a warm, friendly ,welcoming member. and not without ambition! He also was the first cross country skier to become the President of a downhill ski club (HPSC). Quite a feat!
It was my pleasure to meet and get to know him.
Condolences to Jim’s family and friends.
Fondly,
Mary Noble

Only finding out about Jim’s passing now because today was his birthday.
He was the kindest, gentlest, little big man I knew. I remember sharing word games on the trails of Algonquon Park and on camping weekends throat Ontario with HPSC’s hiking club, his love of his Jeep(s) and of his Blue Jays.
Jim was the one who got me involved in volunteering with the ski club and it it because of him that I made so many good friends. The biggest lesson I learned from him (tongue in cheek) was if you made a suggestion or comment during Committee you would be voluntold that you were in charge of making it happen.
I had hoped that we would get together for a cold pop after the pandemic lunacy ends, but I guess we will have to wait to meet spiritually
Rest well, good buddy, I miss you
