Janet Mathieson
Brampton — Janet Mathieson, 61, died June 6, 2018 at Grace Manor Nursing Home, predeceased by father Norman and mother Norma. Toronto-born, Janet spent many happy years in Dorval, Quebec until moving to Brampton in the 90s with her mother. Though mentally handicapped, her wit and winning smile helped Janet make friends easily. Four years ago, when her mother died, Janet had to make her own way in the world. She succeeded with the help of her dear friend Charmaine Gouveia. Janet’s health collapsed last October. Despite best efforts, nothing could be done to arrest her decline. Brothers David and Peter are saddened by her loss but glad that her suffering is at an end. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including those she made at Grace Manor. Commemorative service at noon in Horizon Hall on June 24 at 45 Kingknoll in Brampton.
