Kenneth (Ken) Harold Richardson 1950-2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth (Ken) Harold Richardson. Ken passed away suddenly due to heart complications on Friday, June 5th, less than three weeks before his 70th birthday.
Proud father of Kyle Richardson, loving husband of Emma Richardson (ne: Quinaud), son of Julius Boyd Richardson and Margaret (Betty) Richardson (ne: Roberts), and brother to Gordon (Boyd) Richardson, Ken was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec on June 21, 1950 and grew up in nearby Magog, Quebec. Ken received his law degree from Dalhousie University in 1974, and practised law in Guelph, Ontario for over 25 years. He was an avid follower of Canadian politics, the owner of a well-read library of history and political biographies, and a lover of cinema. Ken was known for his big smile, hearty laugh, and kind heart.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial will be held in the future, when gathering restrictions allow. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Ken’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

Your mom told me the news a couple days after your father passed. I had been thinking about him a couple days earlier wondering how he was doing. Funny that. He was so pleased when you were born and I am sure he was proud of you always. Our condolences.

Our deepest sympathies for Kyle, Emma, and family. Ken was a great guy, full of fun, and had a sharp mind. Ken and I were best friends during high school years and shared our formative years. We were best man at each other’s weddings. Our friendship was gratefully rekindled in recent years. Love you buddy.

So sorry for your loss. I have known Ken since he was young as he lived on Pine Street and our family lived a couple of streets away. It was always nice to see and speak with him when he visited Magog where my husband and I still live.

Hello Kyle:
Ken was my favorite cousin…..keen wit with a great sense of humour. We met again years ago at Aunt Betty’s .80th birthday celebration in Magog. We all went to the same school ((PEHS) and we’re quite close…. Along with his big brother Gordon, who too is sadly gone.
Our heartfelt condolences to you and yours from Vancouver island,
God Bless
