Nigel Dirom Korchuk

Nigel Dirom Korchuk, born in Toronto in 1962 died peacefully on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in Brampton, Ontario at the age of 59.
He was much loved by his Mom (Shirley Richmond-Korchuk) and Dad (Stanley Korchuk), brothers Jonathan (Lynne Griffith-Jones) and Graham and sister Ruth (Steve Sims), Aunt Leslyn (Gerald Lambert) and cousins in England. Predeceased by his Dad, Uncle Al Korchuk (Leona) and Uncle Gerald.
As a child, Nigel lived in South America and Africa and many places in Canada with his family. He was fun-loving and many days were spent in a sand box, playing games and cards and camping, fishing, swimming, water skiing and canoeing with his brothers and sister. He loved the outdoors and spent long hours walking. He worked, lived and flourished on Peace Ranch in Caledon ON where he loved working with the animals and where he felt most at home. He was a writer and a musician like his Dad and especially enjoyed playing jazz and blues on the guitar. He is now at peace with his Dad and Grandma Korchuk.
Thank you to Catherine Positano-Reyes, Erica Antoniou and all the amazing staff at Peace Ranch for being so caring and taking such good care of Nigel and inspiring him to be his best. He will be greatly missed by the Staff and all his friends and family. Nigel is remembered at Peace Ranch as a precious spirit and for being very thoughtful remembering his housemate’s birthdays with generous gift cards. He was likeable, polite and kind in the community and everyone knew his name wherever he went and staff would greet him with such enthusiasm at Mochaberry, Euphoria, Aardvark Music and even the Royal Bank!

What a lovely, gentle man. As a former staff at Peace Ranch I am so saddened to hear of sweet Nigel’s passing. He was enthusiastic and helpful at the Ranch in every aspect of its daily rhythms and a calming, unflappable, grounding presence in the social fabric of the farm. I am so honoured to have known him.
