It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Josephina (Josie) Toporoski (nee den Ouden) on November 1, 2018 at age 72. She is survived by her sons Gary (Julie Zikman) and Marty (Christina Wilcott) and her grandchildren Jesse, Mazzy, Emerson and Marlo. Josie is predeceased by her parents Fred and Gertruda den Ouden of Alliston, and brother John. Freeman was born on July 10, 1951 in McCivers, Newfoundland. He was the 5th of 16 children to Avril (Morgan) and Chesley Parsons. Freeman and his 15 siblings grew up on a farm in a small town. He eventually made his big move to Ontario where he met the love of his life, Deserie, at the Old Block House in Etobicoke. They married on February 24, 1984 and soon had their four children Cory, Kenny, Crystal and Kristan. Jason James Bowers, age 48, crossed quietly to the “Unseen World” on November 22, 2018 after a later in life struggle with addiction and mental health issues. Jason was born March 9, 1970 in Huntsville, Ontario to Mervyn and Eileen (Armstrong) Bowers (predeceased). Jason grew up in Peterborough, graduating from Peterborough Collegiate Vocational School (PCVS), class of 1988. Born May 12, 1948, St. Louis, Missouri. Passed away November 22, 2018 at Saint Michael’s Hospital. His death was peaceful. His wife of 46 years, Egidija Kugle, was holding his hand. The family he leaves behind: sisters-in law, Rasa & Vida (Ken), brother-in-law John (Linda), nephews Eli (Krista), Alnis (Brooke) Adam (Rachael), Jesse (Kailee), niece Lara (Brian), and four great-nephews and one great-niece.
