Derek Cameron Penney April 5, 1945 – July 26, 2017 Derek was born in Cochrane, Ontario the second of three sons and died peacefully in Toronto, Ontario predeceased by both his brothers. He applied his natural business acumen to build a successful career in retail which took many forms and included extensive travel, starting with a part-time job at the age of ten in North Bay, Ontario where he spent his formative years. John Wells (1928-2017)

John Wells died at age 89 in his home on July 24, 2017.  He is survived by his wife Sybil of 64 years, his three children, David, Peter and Heather, and his two grand children Patrick & Elena. John was born in London, UK, coming to Canada on a scholarship to study architecture at the University of Toronto.  There he met his lifelong wife Sybil living in the campus co-op. After graduating in 1953, and a brief association with Harry Burston, John began his architectural partnership with Elmar Tampold. Nora Louise Edwards 1953 – 2017

EDWARDS, Nora Louise September 1, 1953 – July 28, 2017 Nora died in the ICU of the Toronto Western Hospital after an eleven-day struggle with heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. Her needs for extensive support were met with competence, creativity and compassion by the doctors, respiratory therapists and nurses of this superb department. Nora was the youngest daughter of Marjorie and Iorwerth Edwards of Toronto; sister of Tom (Linda), Joan (predeceased), and Fred (Donna); aunt of Colin (Ashley), Johanna (Avtar), Nicholas and Michael. Joseph Robert Donald Brindle (Don) entering is 82nd year of the city of Toronto passed away suddenly on Thursday July 20th 2017 at Michael Garron Hospital (formerly known as Toronto East General) surrounded by family. Don was born in Kirkland Lake and grew up in Temagami Ontario.  His late parents were Salina (Sally) and Jack Brindle.  Barely 16 years old and not completely truthful about his age, Don joined the army and served as a Communications Technician in the Korean War.  By 18 he returned battle-scared and nearly deaf in one ear.  He worked at many occupations, settling down eventually read more …
