Rosena Scott Wells

Rosena Scott Wells (nee McAlister) passed away peacefully at Nisbet Lodge in Toronto, Ontario in the early morning of Wednesday December 9th, 2020 at the age of 88.
Rosena (Little Mom/Nana) was born on March 13, 1932 in Glasgow, Scotland to Jimmy and Annie McAlister.
Rosena was a dedicated mother and nana, first and foremost. Rosena had a passion for dancing. Whether it be ballroom, jiving, rock and roll or disco dancing, wherever there was a dance floor, that’s where you’d find her. She was an avid seamstress who lovingly and stylishly fashioned her children with homemade creations. She was known for her quick wit, sense of humour, infectious smile, and her kind and compassionate heart.
Rosena is survived by her four children, Edward (Violet) Wells, Lori (Dean) Wells, Linda (Leo) Wells-Campanella and Glen (Denise) Wells; her cherished grandchildren, Brandon (Melanie) Wells, Emily Wells, Christopher (Christina) Knight, Michael Wells; her sister Diane Wharton and her brother John McAlister. Rosena now reunites with her parents, Jimmy and Annie McAlister and her sisters, Annie Buchanan McAlister, Margaret Bennet, Jean Gillespie and Christina Millar.
The family wishes to share their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Nisbet Lodge for their loving care and compassion. They went above and beyond in their care of Rosena. They are true earth angels! A Celebration of Rosena’s life will be arranged for a future date, when we’re able to safely gather. Those who desire may make memorial donations to: Nisbet Lodge-McClintock Manor Foundation, in memory of Rosena Wells.

Dear Jean, thank you kindly for your wonder memories of mom. Just think, she has reunited with your sister Margaret Pollock (Bond), who by the way as you know, was mom’s first friend that she made when she arrived in Canada. I believe she met Marg at a dance the 2nd day of arrival. They remained friends throughout their lives. Sending love and hugs

I am extremely thankful that she passed peacefully with her arms wrapped around her baby doll. I am also relieved she no longer suffers from dementia disease. She is free as a bird and I know she is dancing with her sisters back home.
